Energy Curtailment Scheduling MILP Formulation for an Islanded Microgrid with High Penetration of Renewable Energy

The efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) cells has improved significantly in the last decade, making PV generation a common feature sustainable microgrid. As PV-powered microgrid reaches high penetrations intermittent power, optimum scheduling over-production is necessary to minimize energy curtailment. Failure include an accurate assessment curtailed costs process increases wasted energy. Moreover, applying objective function without considering cost coefficients results inefficient concentration power specific time interval. In this study, we provide optimization method for assets evenly distribute curtailment over entire daily period generation.
